Good Weaving Salons In Brooklyn

Urban Art, stencil and graffiti: Tlalpan to the beam.

Asking "what is art?" Is not only snob but is also silly and anachronistic. Since the late nineteenth century the traditional concept of art (if you think about it did not last So understood, the idea of \u200b\u200bart as understood until the nineteenth century actually lasted a few centuries) began to change due the challenges were imposed by the vanguard. Now that almost anything (or nothing) can be art, wonder what is art and what not, and does not help, worth more, as claimed by some contemporary philosophers ask: when is art ?, or, better yet, what is art?, or even better (here comes my malice sociological) who decides what is art and what is not? And what is your opinion as valid for me, Ecuadorian immigrants in Spain for my craft Zapotec, for my graffiti Scotland, to my South African sculptor?

Something that is clear is that contemporary art is open, confusing, dark, cheerful, frivolous, spiritual, all at once: we value Daiman Hirst, but also to Toledo, the painting is accepted detailed, cast aside or industrial waste in a gallery, anything goes and everything is fleeting, in this sense the contemporary art is closer to the fashion and advertising to high culture, art is cool , and its consumers are nice (and use words like cool and nice ) are prepared to be challenged within the sterile and ateamente sacred white cube gallery.

And what does all this verbal garbage? Well beside the point as an introduction to speak of street art, half a century some artists have chosen not to limit his work to galleries, either for political or (anti) aesthetic-taking to the streets for use of canvas for their works and happenings arise street, urban interventions, art posters, etc. is wide and varied the amount of current artists that have chosen the street as not attempt to list them and I will focus on that interests me: graffiti, and the stencil. As is known from the late sixties began to see the first graffiti on the streets, graffiti that began being distorted sentences became in letters, nicknames, and drawings. Soon the graffiti from Brooklyn and the Bronx would be of interest for art, while some graffiti artists were interested in contemporary art at that time was as a guru to Warhol. A rate of Punk Rock and Rap Graff was going to galleries. writers as Crash, Daze Zephyr or rapid recognition had still enduring Daze graffiti today can be worth 60, 000 pesos ( http://www.webgallerynyc.com/daze.html ). So soon emerged ambitious artists such as the collective Colab, or Basquiat (SAMO) or Keith Haring ( http://www.haring.com/ ) who took the graffiti to other latiudes.

Graffiti parallel with the rise of the ghetto, there was also the stencil with spray used for artistic purposes, in Mexico, such as arts groups or Marco Sum hows dissidents were using this medium in the seventies. Since the beginning of the XXI century has been a revival of stencil worldwide usually associated with political issues (consider the example of the stencils in Oaxaca between 2006-07), undoubtedly the most famous stencil artist is Banksy, who has also entered the world of art galleries, while still painting in the streets (Web Banksy; http://www.banksy.co.uk/ ). There is a huge amount of artists who have even managed to give new meaning to urban space, making your work is not only the stencil itself but the context in which it stands, the space as part of the work, as in this disturbing work made in the Bronx, prepared in view of Reagan's visit to that neighborhood Puerto Ricans and blacks:

In Mexico there are also interesting proposals, such as this "work" I found myself Tlalpan Avenue (specifically lowering the bridge Axis 3).

"anything interesting?, Closer:

far from there I found another piece near the graffiti (although the technique used is mixed, stencil, spray and brush-brush ) by Smith Sener around the perimeter of what appears to be a factory or a printing press (on Calle Jose A. Torres).

clutching

A few there I found the Flying Circus (distribution center of art and culture ) and walls I found this picture made, apparently, strokes and brush strokes.

Exploration: Ma Casona de Manuel Contreras.

Name: Ma Casona de Manuel Contreras.
Location: corner Ma Manuel Contreras and Guillermo Prieto, Col. San Rafael. exploration Author: Brainwashed Poet.

Today I went to see a movie about Nazis, it is called in English The Ghetto and Juzenas Audrius is, I liked. Back I decided to miss the streets of Colonia San Rafael and I found this old house that at first appears abandoned, however, as I approached I saw that there were lights on the bottom, finally, the upper floors probably are uninhabited state of the windows, a beautiful house more painful. Not investigate this time, I do not care. I'm sad.

Does Kelly Green Go With A White Or Black Shirt

Exploration: Christ Church

Title: St. Julian of Norwich in Mexico
Location: Section 123, Downtown (near Chinese palace)
exploration Author: Brainwashed Poet.

This time it was and was walking around Chinatown in Mexico City. Stepping business failures, dirty bars and depressing building I found a parish with collapsed roofs, ie it is only the facade. Despite being ruined his garden was care, also had a new sign that said "Santa Juliana of Norwich " funny name, very English for a chapel in Chinatown. Well Dona Juliana (pictured below with that classic style that is painted by the saints, as someone who wants to throw a fart but do not want noise-) was a mystical XIV century English Benedictine (translation : nun who believed in Christ to see her panties), drafted her revelations in a manuscript called "Revelations of Divine Love " , which, incidentally, can be read in one of its passages, the following statement: " As is true that God is our Father, God really is our Mother." was a passionate suffering, every day asking three wishes: 1) feel deeply the passion of Christ (!), 2) serious illness to be worthy and 3) live, always in union with God. At age 30 she fell ill and suffered happily until his death.

of mysticism

This does not tell us much of the original church, but gives us a fact: it is or was in honor of Julian of Norwich , English saint. However in the poster that is outside the church and doubts were just all makes sense, says Social Ministry Anglican Parish , Christ Church. Yes, the Church of England, yes, that he founded Henry VIII to divorce and marry Anne Boleyn chick-who later threw to the plate and then married Jane Seymour, and so forth, the bastard had 6 wives and more concubines. Well, yes, this is an Anglican church, or what remains of it, was completed in 1894 with a loan from Queen Victoria herself, and opened its doors in 1898. Decades passed, in the sixties had to recover much of its interior, the weather continued, the area where it is dropped, went out of fashion, became impoverished and forgotten. In 85, the earthquake, the temple was damaged bastards, and shortly after Christ Community Church moved to a cooler place in Lomas de Chapultepec (although still providing social assistance in the area of \u200b\u200bOld Christ Church).

This building is now regarded as national heritage as it is one of the two existing buildings representatives in Mexico English Gothic Renaissance. The Anglican community decided to make this heritage in the British Museum American Mexico. The renovations have not yet started but here's the blueprint: http://www.christchurchmexico.org/MBAM.pdf . So if you want to see the corpse before it is revived, you know, Section 123, historic downtown.

Merits And Demerits Of Histogram

exploration: dead zone.

Name: Cemetery (?)
Location: near metro Hidalgo.
Author: Manuel Velasco

The cemetery at three o'clock near the metro Hidalgo. Buried and sometimes illustrious names do not matter, matter as much as cats that live there. There was a bum in a wheelchair covered by a tarp that I could not take the picture because someone was out there watching. But for people that also was dead. I was drinking and looked just as dead. I do not know what the end of the road. People are more afraid of spiders than death because it seems so real. The streets seem to be dreamed, invented by some sadist who likes his characters are buried. There is silence, there are cats walking by the graves, knowing that there are not going to go after them, they will not kick them or mistreat them. That is the grace of the tomb, and there is no more than take photos of the crypt or exhume the dead body to take to the dump and have someone else take the place. It is not important. The dead do not drink because it was a tough day, the dead do not need that excited. Is a desire to be remembered in life. That night he was drunk, no one was home waiting. Those graves do not seem so bleak, at least there is cat:

The name of someone who certainly does not matter.

Track Bikes For Sale Motorcycle Bill Of Sale

Work: rabbits and women.

Name: From Rabbits and women.
Material: acrylic paint, oil marker, markers
wax spray.
Author: Brainwashed Poet.

No, not graffiti, stencil or sticket nor are caricaturitas made with latex paint, crayon and markers. Is actually very related to the new styles of urban pattern stencil and since the objective is to make on old objects thus leading to new life, a new look, the work is not only simple illustration (made quickly) but is also the object in which it was made. They are funny and silly, no more.

the first image in the piece, a woman dressed like the 30's-is made on an old metal pot, the second you can see a timber in which there have been several changes through years: from graffiti to spray down or up blasted faces or bunnies. "Advertising that advertises anything?," Vandalism?, "Sample frivolous post?, do not know ... does not matter.

Gloryhole In Riverside

Urban art: Chambers SA

Suggested name: Advertising Salas SA de CV
Location: Calle Tabasco , Colonia Roma.
Author: Unknown.
Photographed / Reviewer: Mary alcohol.

Following the tour of the Roma neighborhood, stumbled across this installation irrefutably .. urban fabtricada real scrap with blood and the sky . The street number 81 of Tabasco has seen the rust and neglect. A mid-century lamp with a broken umbrella lighting up the memory of a Mexico that dreamed of industries, growth and comfort and finished half stalled and Deborah in the center of the maelstrom of global technology. What goes through a thick coiled wire that encloses and binds gear, a fan, a shattered box of tools, parts of an old buggy and a significant and mournfully, a dismembered doll plastic, which seems not to be moved by anything, he knows trapped and immobile. At the base of the plant stands an old plate: "Advertising Chambers SA" ...

Not one more comment.
Maybe mention that there was nobody in the house or I do not want to open.

exist in the Federal District at least 2, 500 abandoned cars ( http://www.eluniversal.com.mx/ciudad/79517.html ), this must be added those which are eternal repair those in cemeteries and junkyards of the periphery and those that are hidden and useless in warehouses or vacant land to which not everyone has access. It is common, especially in areas inhabited by the middle class (Del Valle, Coyoacán, Balbuena, Rome, etc..) Clunkers find, once luxurious, cast aside, their owners-usually elders- have not wanted to get rid of them "For some crazy reason or senile-nostalgic, so have them stranded, rusting and rotting in the streets. A car is dead, if you look a bit, which is quite symbolic: than it was only a memory is rusty on the street, the splendor, the luxury, the presumption, leaving only irons, broken glass, graphite sheet. These cars are silent witnesses of past glories, are des-fortunate who did not fall into the hands of a tycoon or a hip-hoper kitsch that revived the bling bling style. (Examples here: http://www.viejosylokos.com/galeria.html or here http://rides.webshots.com/album/549646705HqkoWu ).

On this occasion, and under these justifications, I went hunting Clunker, I concentrated only in the neighborhood park (on the side of the Delegation Venustiano Carranza ) and to my surprise I found several of these titans, the first was a Red Ford which plate is shown in the picture down here.

Thus, clutching few monsters found several more, all with that look sad and almost shy in contrast to its large size and strong spans (da click on the image for larger):

interesting case deserves the corpse of the picture above, whose owners were an elderly couple quaint: when I saw him at the anchor

shouted at her husband to open her door, the old man poked his pink and mustachioed head by a second-floor window yelling "I will not open, not today ...." I time I rode down other streets, but returned a few minutes, the old man opened the door mumbling incomprehensible insults took stock of the old and smiled dejandondola enter. No doubt owners a car and could not be otherwise.

(The number of old cars will continue periodically).

How Long Does It Take To Grow Braids

Trying to create an album of the dead city

"... dim eternity is frozen in your agony,
As molasses or obsidian silent"
-César-
Brañas

This is a project to create an album of the dead cities (basically the Federal District, Mexico). The proposal is to photograph abandoned places, battered and isolated areas of the city, primarily buildings, machinery and transport. What matters here is the object itself and how it materializes over time and pain, people do not interest us, not nature itself, approaches either too complicated or digital effects: no squid or black and white, no texture, no arrangements, we would like the author, the photographer said nearly gone, we no effect in images where the object takes the floor. This does not mean that we seek the minimal idea of \u200b\u200bit's What you see What you see, no, in fact the opposite is true because we believe that modern ruins, grim sites and rusted, abandoned machinery in a thriving little oil, quarrying lonely and dilapidated, desolate housing units without inhabitants, all these things are symbols, they are lessons, are inevitably documents the man is negligible.

Ernst Jung said that archeology was a science devoted to pain as evidenced by every rule, every great power, succumbed along with their creators, thousands of once glorious kingdom lie dead and their names have been lost in time, that is the pain of knowing negligible and finite, it is a melancholy similar to that experienced at the thought of the immeasurable universe. On the other hand, photography is also a tool of pain: the old photographs are inevitably nostalgic image objectifies and reduces all of reality stops and steals a moment. Photographing contemporary ruins (S. XX and XXI century) is a doubly sad attempt, ie "Look, the other side of town, the other side of things, so you do not want to look, what you are, what I am , which we are, what we do not want to face: the failure, weather, pain, and finitude. " More than artistic

this project is a documentary, is due to have a little place in writing. The idea of \u200b\u200bphotographing abandoned places is not new (although the idea and the formal objectives are very different) for example in Spain there http://abandonalia.blogspot.com/ is really good, other blogs like it are outlined in http://navegaciones.blogspot.com/ , in Mexico City are the DFlickers that dedicated group out to photograph an area taking everything in its path.

in Mexico to find places that meet our objective is relatively simple, for reasons primarily economic and planning. These places reflect
ambitions of a Mexico that never came to modernity, is lost temples dead union labor flexibility, parks where children never played, lost cities reflections Dry international migration. Walking or touring bike for a few hours the city can realize the other metropolis in what appears to be created, paradoxically, a lonely world, dead and ghostly-style interior Juan Rulfo, the same of the City .

metals rust, aging walls, her paintings are crazing, street furniture age without dignity, but it is possible to revive them, and creating an new meaning: this is the second objective of this project / blog: urban interventions in ancient implements of daily life, this itself is a purely artistic purpose, but not related to the snobs and effective interventions are in official circles of contemporary art (many of them very interesting, by the way), but minimal intervention, sometimes minimal or abstract (what you see it's What you see), because in this world where almost everything is aestheticized ( everything is possible with photoshop, drawing courses make that 4 in 10 feel artists, products of any kind have beautiful designs) more or less vulgar (chiaroscuro intense, bright, digital design, special effects), which takes is a little quiet, and elemental simplicity, at once elegant and primitive, that we intend to interventions to be published here on behalf of the authors.

addition we make we will also publish stencils and other "urban art" found in any street, although their style is different from that proposed here, therefore we welcome the street and revived corpses.

Finally, we extend the invitation to publish here by sending an email to rigobertoreyess@gmail.com obviously the images will go up in the name of the author. Cheers.
