Their work was of such importance that the Royal English Language Academy decided to make it one of its members. In his honor, was established in the year 1942, the Instituto Caro y Cuervo, an entity of philology, linguistics and reading promotion in the country. But why Bogota Beer Company has launched a beer in tribute to a scholar? It is apparent that Mr. Rufino and his brother Angel was founded in the year 1868 one of the first breweries in Bogota. This factory was located in his house (which is actually now houses the Instituto Caro y Cuervo). Was so successful that the beer became famous in the Old Continent, where he obtained a diploma of honor in France, in 1871.
After reaching the top with the beer, decided to sell and move to live in Europe, where they lived comfortably until the end of his days.
also highlight the partnership between BBC and the Institute and that a percentage of net sales of beer Don Rufino, aims to promote literature and the purchase of books for disadvantaged children population (a very admirable approach and commendable). Spoken
